
Windows 9 was never officially released but it doesn’t mean development didn’t see the light of day. This windows 9 Release was completed by independent coders using Windows 9 Technical Preview build 9838/45 as its base.

What was changed:
In all versions:
Added Japanese language (because it is native there);
The mod was rebuilt on newer W9TP builds;

What was changed:
- A 32-bit version has been released;
- The logo has been redesigned;
- Wallpapers in the lock screen and in the themes *Windows 9* have been changed;

What was changed (differences from 8.1, 8.2):
Explorer:
– Added the Home Page;
– Hard drives and devices with removable media are now displayed on the desktop in file Explorer and in navigation;
Windows and new features:
– Window animation has been changed;
– Aero Snap:
— Now you can link 4 windows;
– Changed the design theme;
Windowed Metro apps and Charms Bar:
– Store apps can now collapse and expand like a normal desktop app in Windows;
– The Charms bar when hovering over the corners have been disabled, instead it can be selected from the list of options in the upper-left corner of the app;
Metro Apps:
– PC settings have been updated;
– Added new apps;
Start Screen and Start Menu”:
– The context menu of the Home Screen and the Start Menu have been slightly updated;
– The Start Menu containing elements from Windows 7 and 8.1 was returned and redesigned (it was in 8.2);
– Now you can switch between the Home Screen and the Start Menu

Taskbar and new features:
– Switching between windows “Windows Flip” has been updated;
– Task view:
— New multi-desktop mode;
– Search on the taskbar;
– Notification center and notification recycling:
— Notifications have been changed and now all notifications will be displayed in the Notification Center;
– Changed the kernel version;
– The command line has been redesigned with various new features, including the ability to resize;

This is a developer build and not an officially supported Microsoft operating system, typically a windows 8 license key will allow an installation of this build. e.g. T3NJK-3P683-2T7BJ-2X27F-8B2KV
Developer builds were provided free by Microsoft, windows 8 – 11 were part of free upgrade paths. This page serves only as a centralized resource of applications Microsoft made freely available. No infringement is intended. Windows 9 was never released to shelves and as such is classed as abandon-ware completed as a fan project.
